چکیده
Essential oils (EOs) from Abies sachalinensis (Sakhalin fir), a conifer species found in Sakhalin Island and Hokkaido Japan, effectively remove nitrogen dioxide possess antifungal activity. EOs also exert relaxing effect enhance air quality. Underwater shock waves generate instantaneous high pressure that ruptures cell walls, enhancing the performance of steam distillation oil extraction. In this study, we aimed to increase yield quality A. extracts using shockwaves. Leaves branches were subjected shockwave pretreatment or left untreated before EO extraction by distillation. dried leaves was 2.4 g/kg dry leaf weight (DW). Upon application 3.0 kV, 3.6 kJ shockwave, increased with number cycles. After ten cycles, 13.6-fold. Pretreatment shockwaves for 10 cycles resulted approximately 6- 13-fold reductions total energy consumption relative fresh leaves, respectively. Antioxidant activity more than 30-fold shockwave-pretreated after This novel process can significantly reduce used distillation, thereby contributing development sustainable, low-energy production system.
